We often feel much like the monk in the above, rightly-famous Norwegian comedy sketch, summoning the mediaeval help desk. (If you haven’t watched it before, do so now.)
The source of all IT wisdom in the family is our son, but he’s inconveniently living in LA at the moment.
So it’s wonderful that, having not long ago acquired a Smart TV that’s far smarter than we are, we’ve discovered Student Aan Huis (‘Student at Home’)
For a phone call and a modest fee of EUR7 per 15 minutes, a friendly, polite young genius called Coen rides his bike to our home in Amsterdam and arranges that my new printer now connects wirelessly to the laptop and that our Smart TV displays photos on demand and magically links to YouTube, Netflix and other entertainment providers.
It’s a brilliant service, matching technological klutzes like us with students who can use a few extra euros. Thanks and hartelijk bedankt, Coen!
Are there similar organisations available in other places? If not, there should be!
That is hilarious!! Really well done.
Well, Reggie, the credit for the hilarity goes to the Norwegians, and the good work was done by Coen.
