A regular sculpture event brings us down to Den Haag whenever it’s held.
The lovely, leafy avenue known as Lange Voorhout hosts an outdoor exhibition, under the aegis of the excellent Museum Beelden aan Zee (‘Museum of Sculpture by the Sea’).
This year’s theme is RUSSIA XXI, featuring work by some of that country’s finest contemporary artists.

Nikolay Polissky works with farmers in a small village, designing his work for the location in which it will stand and feeding inspiration back into the community.
RUSSIA XXI runs until September 8th in Lange Voorhout and until October 27th at Museum Beelden aan Zee. The exhibition at Lange Voorhout is free. Entry to the museum costs EUR12.
Some interesting pieces there!
Nice! I love the last one 🙂
Thanks, Andrew and amsterdamian. They’ve gone for quality over quantity in Lange Voorhout – all strong pieces, very well executed.
Wonderful exhibition, I love being able to wander around sculptures and explore them from all angles.
And all the better for being free, in a public space, tbd.
Most definitely, I’m looking forward to the annual, free Swell sculpture festival coming up in a few weeks 🙂
